Black Birders Week 2022

The Parrot University is excited to sponsor this year’s third annual Black Birders Week from Black AF in STEM. This year’s theme is “Soaring to Greater Heights” with daily themes exploring the world of birding and conservation.

Black AF in STEM

If you are just hearing about Black AF in STEM be sure to check out their website. Their goals include working to “support, uplift, and amplify Black STEM professionals in natural resources and the environment through professional development, career connection, and community engagement.” They have been working to achieve this through numerous community out reach projects and creating a flourishing network of black professionals in the field.

By expanding the network Black AF in STEM has been able to connect birders across the country and beyond. It has been so fantastic to see all the growth that has taken place even in just three years!

Black Birders Week

This explosive growth can be seen beautifully in this year’s line up of Black Birders Week panelists and speakers. With individuals sharing their knowledge from all walks of life. This year we will have the opportunity to hear from museum directors, researchers, photographers, and so many more fantastic mentors.
